Windward House Press is an independent publishing house based in Georgetown, Guyana. We publish historical fiction, biblical fiction, general-interest nonfiction, and children's books — work rooted in the Caribbean and told with craft and care. We began with a single conviction: that Guyanese and Caribbean voices deserve a house of their own, one that meets the standards of any shelf in the world while keeping its feet firmly on this coast.
Registered with the Caribbean Regional ISBN Agency and built for wide distribution, Windward House exists to publish the region's writers — including those the larger and more distant houses have long overlooked.
The Faithful Fireside

Albert Massay
Albert Massay is a Guyanese writer and publisher, and the founder of Windward House Press. Born and raised in Guyana and based in Georgetown, he established the house to give the region's writers a publishing home of their own — one built to modern standards of craft and distribution, yet rooted firmly in the Caribbean.
He writes across the house's lines: the Demerara Chronicles, a sequence of historical novels set on the plantation coast of nineteenth-century British Guiana; the Faithful series of biblical fiction; general-interest nonfiction on Guyana and the wider Caribbean; and stories for young readers. His work returns again and again to the themes that shape this coast — home and leaving, memory and reckoning, and the long reach of the diaspora.
Through Windward House, he publishes his own work and is building a house for other Caribbean authors — writers the larger, more distant publishers have too often passed over.
Windward House Press welcomes work from Guyanese and Caribbean authors — fiction, nonfiction, and children's books rooted in the region and its diaspora. We are a small house and read every submission ourselves.
To submit, send a brief query letter, a one-page synopsis, and the first three chapters (or, for picture books, the complete manuscript) to our email below. Please allow time for a considered reply.
We never charge authors to read or to publish. If we take your book, we pay you.
